Under the surface of your chosen installation area, water pipes and electric lines can be located. At the pipe stage, cover the sprinklers or uninstall them if you no longer need them. For quick water clear-out, install the appropriate drainage pipes. To prevent uneven floors, mark the location of unused sprinklers.

By pushing them away from the perimeter by six to eight inches, cover your electric wires. Keep them out of the way so that they can not be harmed as you protect the edges of the turf.

Get Rid of Weeds

Before installing your turf, the first thing you do is kill the grassroots and weeds.

With a non-toxic weed killer that you trust, spray the field. Do this at least two weeks prior to the installation date you choose. Killers of weeds require enough time to work. Fill your spot thoroughly with weed killers to make sure there won’t be any evidence of life on your lawn.

Remove the dirt from the top sheet

Excavate the top by three or four inches or make room for the new foundation. Then step across the field or apply pressure to loose soil using a hand tamp.

Sort the drainage

You’ll have little to no issues if you’re installing artificial grass on top of well-draining soil. This is because there are outstanding plastic lawn drains. Install an adequate irrigation system if it’s on top of poorly drained soil. Drainage holes every six inches across the perimeter should be appropriate if your area receives very light rain.

Mount a bender board

Map the perimeter such that you have a straight line to distinguish the field of your turf from the other areas of your grass. As a reference, fence it so that your turf can not crawl out of its allocated space.

Install a gopher wire

Little by little, roll the gopher wire out into the assembly area. By placing u-shaped staples on a few feet, protect the laid pieces so that they do not slip with time. Using a wire cutter to shave it down to size after thoroughly unrolling.
